The Project:
Full product line refresh for Lifted Movement
Working from Vancouver, I photographed Lifted Movement's complete product catalog over 2.5 shoot days, creating up to 100 images for their e-commerce store and marketing channels. Lifted Movement designs premium fitness equipment that merges functional performance with interior-worthy aesthetics: marble-accented kettlebells, powder-coated free weights, silicone hand weights, and recovery tools like the Mini Motivator massage gun. The brand positions itself for customers who want workout gear displayed in their living spaces, not hidden in closets.
My brief was straightforward: re-shoot their full inventory with a focus on color accuracy and material detail so customers understand exactly what they're buying online. The project covered free weights, silicone hand weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, the Deluxe Movement Mat, tote bag, duffel bag, dumbbells, the Arc, wedges, heat wraps, mini motivator, massage gun, hot pack, ice pack, and a set of holiday campaign images.
The Challenge:
Material truth at premium price points
Customers were not fully understanding the true product colors and materials from existing photography. For a brand charging premium prices based on craftsmanship (Carrara marble details, recycled steel, soft-touch silicone) any color shift or texture loss in images directly undermines perceived value. My role was to deliver true-to-life color and high-detail imagery that shows texture and craftsmanship across marble, metal, and silicone finishes.
When your business model depends on customers believing that workout equipment can be beautiful enough to display, photography that delivers material truth without sacrificing elegance becomes essential infrastructure, not just marketing content. The challenge was balancing two competing needs: functional clarity and aesthetic restraint. Too much gym energy and the brand loses its design-first customers. Too much lifestyle softness and the products stop reading as serious performance tools.
The Execution:
Lighting for texture and color consistency
I built the lighting approach around maintaining material truth across every shot. Soft directional lighting preserved micro-texture in the silicone grips without creating harsh highlights on reflective metal surfaces. The marble accents required careful highlight control to show veining and polish level without blown-out hotspots or muddy shadows. For the Mini Motivator and massage gun, side-profile angles communicated ergonomic scale and showed the interchangeable heads clearly.
I calibrated white balance to ensure consistent color across the entire inventory. When products appear in different tones from image to image, customers lose confidence in what they are seeing. For Lifted Movement's powder-coated finishes and natural marble variations, color consistency was critical. The silicone needed to read as soft-touch matte, not cheap plastic. Metal finishes needed clean specular control so they looked premium, not industrial.
Styling that supports brand positioning
The massage gun photography required showing function within a design-first context. I placed the Mini Motivator on neutral surfaces that communicate this belongs in your home while still making the device's portability and attachment system immediately clear. The styling stayed restrained with no cluttered props or trendy elements that would compete with the product or age quickly. The goal was images that work as both wellness product photography and interior lifestyle content.
I shot the collection to hold both truths: clean angles that show how products work, styled in contexts that feel like real elevated homes rather than staged sets. The interchangeable head side-profile shots for the massage tools translate complex features into understood function at a glance. Marble surfaces in the styled shots added dimensionality through refined reflections without pulling focus from the products.
The Results:
Visual infrastructure for growth
I delivered a photo collection spanning multiple use cases: campaign images for seasonal launches, product page angles and profiles, detail crops for social media and paid advertising, and press-quality files. Every image maintained uniform color across channels so a customer seeing the product in an ad, on the website, and in an email sees the same accurate representation. The marble-surface wellness device photography and texture macro shots provide the visual proof that justifies the price point.
Lifted Movement now has a photo collection that supports their full product range with consistent quality and accurate representation. The images serve product pages, marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, and press use. For a growing brand launching new colorways and seasonal collections, having this visual foundation means future shoots can build on an established system rather than starting from scratch each time.
